Our Harbour frontage house wins at the Sussex Heritage Trust Awards 2023.

For another year, leading Chichester Architectural Practice– Pullen Architecture receives recognition from the Sussex Heritage Trust.

We were delighted to revisit and remodel this unique family home occupying a prominent position along the protected shoreline of Chichester Harbour and conservation area.

The result is a seamless evolution of this rather special house, which respects the original form and external detailing, fused with a simple Mediterranean Revival style interior, while being mindful to harness the stunning uninterrupted tranquil harbour views.

The inclusion of Sustainable technologies played a key role in the approach and functionality of this extended family home.

Sussex Heritage Trust judges commented:

“Any scheme of building alteration in such a setting carries huge inherent challenges.  The judges felt that this scheme had been designed and executed very carefully, utilising appropriate materials. In both cases the scale of extension is proportionate and subservient to the existing building, and both sit very comfortably in this sensitive landscape.”
